The first blog by a British prisoner. Variously described as being "obviously extremely intelligent" (Michael Gove), "the most interesting interview I have ever done" (Michael Portillo), and a "fully paid up member of the awkward squad" (Parole Board), I try to generate debate around the moral and political nexus that is imprisonment. Imprisoned between ages 14 to 47, released on Licence in August 2012
I know, I cultivated a Gandalfian beard for decades but it had to go when (a) I found beetle in it, and (b) for domestic harmony. Why do so many women object to caveman beards???!!! One day I will post a pic of me back in those days but at the moment I prefer to deprive the Daily Star of another cheap shot!
Depriving the daily star of anything of value is to be praised,
The beetle makes me think, have you seen/read 'Jons jail Journal' (http://jonsjailjournal.blogspot.co.uk/). I'm rather hoping that UK conditions despite their bizarre and frustrating rules/bureaucracy (thank thingy for spell checkers) are somewhat both more hygienic and humane.
Thanks for the most interesting insights by the way.
Yes John, a more apt description for sure. F*ck knows where I got the Buddha nonsense from! Anyway, let's hope the plot in the garden becomes more permanent soon.....
You don't look very busy to me
ReplyDeleteI'm most disapointed by the beard, I really was hoping for a more 'zz top' effort..
ReplyDeleteHope the day has been kind.

@Anon, thanks! UK prisons tend not to have the infestations that afflict some US jails but some are far from hygienic or humane. Alas.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or is there a certain 'buddha-esque-ness' to the image?
ReplyDeleteHey baldy ever thought of becoming a Tibetan monk?
