One of the more intellectual of prisoner-campaigners, Ben chose to educate himself from schoolboy level to having both undergraduate and post graduate degrees. He is currently one of very few prisoners in Britain ever to attempt a Doctorate. Ben's speciality is non-violent action and the Human Needs Theory. Now on Life Licence, He is forging a career as a CJ policy consultant, writer and - as ever - campaigner.

ah, the cannabis MDT defence is long established, successful; - and commercially valuable. Excuse me from not giving it away here :)

DeleteSurely your life license includes a condition (or two) that would preclude you from selling this information to serving prisoners?
Who knows? Maybe your OM is on board with this idea, maybe not , or maybe this is just more of the same egotistical trash that seems to sum up the entire content of this blog recently

DeleteI don't believe offender managers would routinely concur with selling information on someone they supervise in the probation field unlike others. I also think the comments re Ben's personal circs are reprehensible.

DeleteMNC, the name Mokurai means "silent thunder". And Ben was into Zen for over 15 years...
Delete@MNC, not in court, its used at internal disciplinary hearings within prison. Having THC in your pee is not a crime outside of prison.

ReplyDeleteOf course, Ben does have a job: he's building up his consultancy in his spare time. I can totally see your point though, this sort of dedication to change for the better for himself and for others really is something we should be discouraging in newly released lifers.

Extract from the "Prisons" section of the website.... This service is initially offered to those with high net worth, whose imprisonment will be inherently more disruptive to their lives.

How does Ben come to the conclusion that the disruption caused to a prisoner or his/her family life is relative to the prisoners net worth???

It's not claiming to be noble, you silly sod. Its a commercial service aimed at those a) who have complicated and professional lives, and b) who can afford it. Criticising me for something *I haven't claimed to be doing for motives I've never espoused is a desperate, silly ploy.
