Homer Simpson Management Award
A friend has a natural aptitude and talent with computers, and has spent the last couple of years taking a computing degree. Seems he's sorting his life out and looking to the future - all good so far, right?
And then an Education Manager steps in and bans him from going anywhere near a PC. It seems that now he knows too much about computers and that worries them.
That's several years of time, effort, and commitment down the drain and a putative career squashed. Whenever you hear that the rate of re-offending is over 60%, this episode will illuminate your ignorance as to why.

Sounds more like spite than worry to me. A computer is the best way to learn . I would be lost without mine. I can imagine how your friend is feeling.
