My Cell At Shepton

The following pictures were taken by my mobile whilst at Shepton Mallet. This is where the blog was conceived, written and defended without pause. Those who have followed the blog from the beginning will recall that Shepton was the site of many bruising battles on the long journey to release.

I don't miss it!

    1. Icky, I try to retain a sphere of privacy for myself and the Editor and FB was allowing someone to join dots, so I suspended it for a little while. It should be back soon - when I have worked out the privacy settings! I am back on Twitter :)

  2. I hope that's your beard on the picture-board! :)

  3. @Darby, I was wondering who would notice that disgusting detail! When i sent her the pic, the Editor made me throw it away!

    1. I can understand the Editors misgivings - but nevertheless suspect it had the desired effect on the screws. I note that the value of tobacco in jail is endorsed by the fact that your pre-prepared roll-ups are only marginally thicker than the lolly-sticks!

  4. Two questions;

    -Is the thing on the bed in the first picture the "jug" of which we heard so much?
    -Whats behind the orange and yellow blanket?

  5. @tallguy. Yep, the thing on the bed is my jug...which the Editor found and threw in the bin when I arrived home. Luckily, I have spares! And the hideous thing hanging up is an ancient duvet which I hung over the cell door to muffle the sound of my speaking on the mobile. I didn't even think of bringing that home!

    1. The cell? No. At the time it was home in a sense. The one I have now is infinitely better!

  7. Notice u have curtains. Is that for everyone or just the lucky few. And also what were the beds like they don't look very comfortable. And I assume they did cell searches, but I assume they don't do.personal searchs as they would find the mobile, oh and how did u get one in.

    1. Oh and ps can u get into trouble for posting these. They don't infringe any prison copyright or security.

    2. @SuperSaint. Curtains are allowed in most training prisons, especially for long termers. We buy them. The beds are horrible, obviously. Of course staff search the bodies of prisoners, though not internally. For that they have a BOSS chair, which is essentially a very expensive metal detector. The phone was hidden in my cell for 4 years (not on or in my body) and despite regular "targeted" searches they failed to find it. The copyright of the pics is mine. Obviously phones are illegal in prison but that I had a phone has been known for over a year. I will never say how I obtained it...obviously.
