One of the guys was obsessed with his appearance, his clothing, and a manic gym attendee. Someone asked him Why he made all this effort? He said that he wanted to look good to attract women when he was released.
A passing wit chipped in, "Haven't you heard of Rohypnol..?"
Bad, bad, bad, Ben that's so bad! Shocked.
ReplyDeleteLol.....sooooo politically incorrect.
ReplyDeleteAs a woman I really shouldnt see the funny side of this, but hey....gotta feed the haters.
There was this female trainee teacher, she missed out on all the parties with the other girls. Someone asked her why she was so diligent in her studies. She said she wanted to achieve high standards for the sake of boys education.
ReplyDeleteA passing feminist chipped in, "Haven't you heard of Ritalin...?
@ Jimmy Giro - have you any other jokes in your repertoire? We could all do with a laugh, but this one just isn't funny; it's quite sinister actually, much more so than the quip Ben retells because that WAS a joke, but your apparently serious sexism isn't. I'd be interested to know where it comes from but I guess that would be too private to share with us.
ReplyDeleteYou're right Jules, when you say it isn't a joke:
ReplyDelete"There are now some 650,000 eight to 13-year-olds on the drug or its equivalents."
But who, or whom, are the real 'sexists'?
The joke was funny, but in my mind, the words nonce and humour should NEVER go together!
ReplyDeleteJimmyGiro - the very first step I took on my path of working with prisoners/ex-offenders was mentoring a little boy aged 11, who was deemed 'at risk of offending'. He had been referred to the charity I worked for by his school, having already had several exclusions. On our first meeting we sat in Burger King having a drink and chat, when he said 'they have put me on tablets'. I asked him what they were for. He said 'I think I might be really ill, they said I have got ADHD, will I die?' This poor little boy hadn't even been told why he had to take the tablet, either by professionals or his mother. His home life was appalling, he was still at home but being 'monitored' by social services. His 'ADHD' was caused by emotional abuse. I completely agree with you on the Ritalin issue. I also agree that most primary school teachers are women, but I'm sure they don't have the motive of subjugating boys, I don't think it is that simple and shouldn't be reduced to a gender thing, it's just endemic in social care/education. Much more research needs to be done on so-called 'ADHD' as handing out tablets like sweeties is never going to tackle the root causes of children's challenging behaviour. Professionals and parents must find other ways of coping by improving relationships, which is the key to helping these children.
ReplyDeleteSure the joke is in bad humour.. but lets be honest here, we are talkin a bout a joke that was probably repeated in a prison.. i dont think they are guna be telling knock-knock jokes! Sick but not unexpected...
ReplyDeleteHuntress, of course I'm shocked by it ... and partly amused; I went from shock to indignation to small laugh to short burst of big laugh back to indignation and then again to shock, and round again.
ReplyDeletePrison humour ... nothing compares!
@Jules so you think having a joke at a feminist's expense is a gender thing?
ReplyDeleteThe 'feminist' joke was vindictive and unfunny, not big nor clever
ReplyDeleteFeminists by nature are vindictive and unfunny so I thought the joke was great.
ReplyDeleteWell it just shows up your ignorance and prejudice then doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI've just pointed out what I think of Feminists and you insulted me personally. So who is the ignorant, prejudicial hater really?
ReplyDelete"@Jules so you think having a joke at a feminist's expense is a gender thing?"
ReplyDeleteIt was me who wrote the above, the implication being that men can also be classed as feminists if they are stupid enough.
Yes it's a loose set of ideas, so loose in fact that when analysed truthfully turns out to be bullshit.
Here's a typical example of feminists in action:

Talk about shifting the post. You are making this post into your own pet hate subject, and you don't care what Ben and his readers think. It is known as hijacking
